Ron Anderson, godfather of Minneapolis advertising and mentor who had the greatest impact on me (professionally, personally and spiritually) shared that quote with me. And this insight:

“I learned early on that advertising’s a team sport not an individual sport. If you depend on the fruits of your own efforts, you can have a very ungratifying career.

“On the other hand, if you learn to share and take pride in the work of your colleagues, you’ll have a full and gratifying career.”

In that spirit of teamwork—and to pay homage to all the mentors who’ve made me the ad man I am today—I’m sharing everything I’ve learned.
